On April 3, 2025, the ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of the new FREMM EVO took place at the integrated shipyard in Riva Trigoso, Fincantieri. This event represents an important and significant milestone and marks the start of the construction phase of the new unit, which is scheduled for delivery to the Italian Navy in 2029. OSN is the Prime Contractor, Whole Warship, and Combat System Design Authority for the FREMM Program, with the contract signed with OCCAR for the delivery of 10 FREMM units and 2 FREMM EVO units to the Italian Navy (MMI).
