Ship Engineering and Architecture

The Ship Engineering and Architecture Function operates across two key areas: Ship Integration and Logistics Engineering, with the overarching goal of maintaining the Design Authority for naval units. This involves developing and sustaining robust system, design, and executive capacities to support the entire product lifecycle effectively.

Individuals within this function are tasked with actively participating in the implementation of assigned projects or studies. They adhere to received guidelines, meet agreed time and cost objectives, and ensure specified performance standards are met. Leveraging company assets, including knowledge, methodologies, and tools, they uphold defined quality standards while actively contributing to customer satisfaction.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Agree with the project manager or head of the operational area on time and cost objectives
  • Agree with the project manager or head of the operational area on methodologies, tools and resources in general
  • Contribute to the identification of technical risks
  • Contribute to the monitoring of technical risks and the implementation of reduction measures, in accordance with the guidelines received
  • Constantly verify the technical consistency of the elaborations against the specifications and participate in the checks of consistency with the related elaborations
  • Support the project manager or head of the operational area in technical interface actions with the customer
  • Maintain continuous communication with the project manager, the head of the operational area and with colleagues engaged in related projects/studies to contribute to the improvement of process efficiency
  • Participate in project reviews also for the purpose of proposing solutions to possible technical problems.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Naval/Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions
  • Good ability to use the main tools of the Microsoft Office package and Project
  • Good knowledge of English for managing documentation and technical and relationships with suppliers
  • Willingness to transfer and transfers on national and international territory
  • Knowledge of the French language is to be considered a preferred qualification
  • Personal characteristics such as interpersonal skills, strong orientation to team working and the ability to react positively to work pressure while maintaining control and remaining focused on the priorities and objectives assigned by one's manager are considered fundamental.
