Orizzonte Sistemi Navali (OSN) is an Italian company, owned by Fincantieri (51%) and Leonardo (49%), the main Italian industrial Groups operating worldwide in the Defense Sector.
The Company has more than 10 years’ experience in integrated naval systems and support services, human factor requirement studies, integrated logistics support for the Whole Warship Life cycle and training solutions.
OSN is the system integrator of the FREMM Programme for the construction of 10 frigates for the Italian Navy and, on the foreign market, for the construction of amphibious assault ships and mine countermeasures vessels.
The Programme is related to the mid-life refitting of two Destroyers of the Italian Navy (Durand de la Penne class). The program was completed in 2010.
The Programme concerned the construction of 4 frigates for France and Italy. OSN took part in the Horizon Programme through its 50% owned Company Horizon SaS delivering two units (Andrea Doria class). The programme, launched in October 2000, was completed in 2011.
The Programme is related to the construction of 10 frigates (Bergamini class) for the Italian Navy. It was launched in November 2005. The first vessel was delivered in May 2013.
International Programmes include BDSL Programme for the construction of a landing platform dock (LPD) and CDMA Programme for the construction of a mine countermeausures vessel. The two Units are realized for the Algerian Navy.
